Job Description
Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of people with disability? Do you have experience supporting individuals with complex mental health needs, specifically Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)? Mai-Wel is seeking a compassionate, confident, and capable Support Worker to join our small, dedicated SIL team.
This is a Permanent Part-Time position, 25 hours per week, working to a set roster. You must be available to work all rostered shifts and be confident working independently, as each shift is worked in isolation with the support of a small remote team.
About the Role
As a Support Worker in our SIL homes, you will provide high-quality, person-centred supports that promote independence, empowerment, and positive daily living outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing personal care supports
Supporting activities of daily living such as cooking, cleaning, laundry and household tasks
Transporting participants in your personal vehicle or a Mai-Wel vehicle
Implementing behaviour support strategies
Working independently to deliver consistent, safe, and responsive support
Maintaining accurate and timely documentation
Desired Skills and Experience
What We’re Looking For
To be successful, you will have:
✔ Minimum 2+ years experience in disability support or a related field
✔ Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with mental health needs, including Borderline Personality Disorder
✔ Confidence and capability to work independently within a small, remote-supported team
✔ A commitment to person-centred practice and maintaining participant safety, dignity, and choice
✔ Must be able to do the required template, which will include overnights and sleepovers
Mandatory requirements:
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC)
Current Driver’s Licence & willingness to use own vehicle
Current First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
