Job Description
Casual / Part-Time
Flexible hours including shorter shifts (approx. 4 hours)
Monday to Saturday availability required
About the Role
Mai-Wel is seeking flexible and experienced Support Workers to assist across our SCCP, Academy (Job Coaching) and Community Living programs. Due to ongoing roster gaps, we are recruiting across several support templates that combine Academy-based supports and NDIS Pathways/community supports.
This is a varied role suited to people who are confident working both independently and as part of a team, and who enjoy supporting participants to build independence, skills, and meaningful community connections.
Key Responsibilities
Participant Support
Provide person-centred support to participants across SCCP, Academy and Community Living settings
Assist with personal care tasks in line with individual support plans
Deliver employment-based supports, including skill development, routine building and community participation
Support participants to achieve NDIS and individual outcomes in a safe, respectful manner
Community & Independent Work
Confidently work alone in community living settings when required
Support participants in community-based activities across Maitland, Cessnock and Raymond Terrace
Travel between locations as rostered
Professional Practice
Follow Mai-Wel policies, procedures and safety requirements
Maintain accurate documentation and shift records
Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors and participants
Desired Skills and Experience
Essential Criteria
Availability to work Monday to Saturday
Experience providing personal care supports
Ability to work independently and manage lone-worker responsibilities
Willingness and ability to travel between Maitland, Cessnock and Raymond Terrace
Experience or demonstrated ability to provide employment-focused or skill-building supports
Flexible availability, including shorter shifts (around 4 hours)
Current Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable
Experience working within NDIS Pathways, community living or academy-style programs
Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services or similar
Understanding of person-centred and strengths-based support approaches
