Make a Difference – Support People to Achieve Their Goals
At Mai-Wel, we believe in building brighter futures by empowering people to enter, engage in and maintain employment. We are seeking passionate and motivated Support Workers to join our Grounds and Facilities team, supporting participants to develop skills, gain confidence, and reach their goals.
About the Role
As a Support Worker – Grounds and Facilities, you will:
Plan, deliver, and support on-the-job training to build practical and transferable employment skills
Mentor and coach individuals to help them achieve their employment goals and build confidence in the workplace
Supervise daily work activities across grounds maintenance, facilities upkeep, and commercial cleaning tasks
Support individuals to meet productivity targets while maintaining high-quality standards
Build strong, professional relationships and provide ongoing encouragement and guidance
Ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful work environment aligned with NDIS Quality and Safeguards standards
Complete administrative and reporting requirements in line with organisational and NDIS expectations
Work collaboratively within a team while also operating independently across various sites
This role involves travel between sites, working across different environments, and requires flexibility in daily tasks.
Desired Skills and Experience
To be successful, you will have:
Experience in the human services sector, ideally within NDIS or employment support
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate others
Experience or willingness to work in grounds maintenance, facilities, or commercial cleaning environments
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities
Flexibility to work across different locations and shifts – including Cessnock
Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID009, HLTAID010, HLTAID011) and Driver’s Licence
